"THE LUCKIEST SEA TURTLE"
The Big Island, Hawaii
Swimming lazily in a calm tide pool beneath a colorful Hawaiian sunset, a sea turtle pokes its head up for air. I've honestly never seen a sea turtle that was so relaxed. He let me get within a couple feet of him without a care in the world. What a life.
I've also never had the good fortune of finding a wild sea turtle in a pool of water that was perfectly calm. I've seen many, many sea turtles all over Hawaii and the Caribbean, but none in such a photogenic setting. The still water allowed me compositions that, for me at least, were never possible before.
